The act of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a gamble at the moment, so you could imagine that there might be very little affinity for going to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens. In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the above talked about lottery and Zimbet (which is quite like a parimutuel betting system), there are also two horse racing tracks in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.
Given that the economy has contracted by beyond forty percent in recent years and with the connected deprivation and crime that has come about, it isn’t understood how healthy the vacationing industry which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the in the years to come. How many of the casinos will carry through till things get better is simply not known.
