Gaming supervisors look over gaming operations and workers in an assigned area. Circulating among the game tables, they see that all stations and games are taken care of for each shift. It also is typical for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating policies for patrons. Supervisors will also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.
Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and good communication skills. They need these talents both to manage workers effectively and to greet gamblers in order to promote return visits. Quite a few casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. Despite their educational background, however, many supervisors gain experience in other gambling occupations before moving into supervisory desks because an understanding of games and casino operations is essential for these staff.
